Mullens has Rite Aid, Dairy Queen, mom-and- pop restaurant "Second Street", Coal Country Smokehouse and Burgers, Christy's Creative Confections, SubWay/Little General, Wayne's grocery and gas, a couple of doctor's offices. However, 45 min. to Beckley and you have Dicks Sporting Goods, Wal-Mart, along with other retail stores and most chain restaurants such as Outback Steakhouse, Ruby Tuesday's, Bob Evans, Applebee's, Cracker Barrel to name a few.  ** On October 1, the Coalfields Expressway opened and allows for easier access into Mullens.
